COVID-19 Entry Requirements

Destinations around the world have instituted requirements such as proof of vaccination and/or testing, health insurance coverage and wearing masks in public environments. Where applicable, specific tour guidelines for US travelers are listed below and are in addition to, and may go beyond, Tauck’s requirements.

Additionally, Tauck requires all guests to bring with them one of the following forms of documentation: (1) proof of vaccination, (2) a negative result from a PCR COVID-19 test taken within 3 days prior to the start of your Tauck journey, or (3) proof of full recovery from COVID-19. United States

Life on the Mississippi

Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on the Life on the Mississippi river cruise. The below travel requirements are mandated by our ship partner, American Queen Steamboat Company,  and are applicable to all Tauck guests without exception:

  • There are currently no travel restrictions or quarantine requirements in the states we will be visiting: Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee.
  • As of July 1, 2021, American Queen Steamboat Company has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement and only fully vaccinated guests will be permitted to board the American Duchess for this cruise.
  • Prior to confirming a reservation with Tauck, guests should consider their ability to secure all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine 14 days in advance of your cruise start date.
  • Guests will have to present a government-issued certificate, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination prior to embarking the American Duchess.

The Best of Hawaii

Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on the The Best of Hawaii tour. The below travel requirements are mandated by Tauck and the state of Hawaii and are applicable to all Tauck guests without exception:

  • Prior to travel, all guests 18 and over must create an online user account and registers with the State of Hawaii Safe Travels program at https://travel.hawaii.gov/#/.
  • All travelers must present one of the following forms of proof for entry to Hawaii: 1) Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (14 days since receiving the final dose); or 2) Proof of a negative NAAT COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of the final leg of their trip to Hawaii. The test must be conducted by a Hawaii Safe Travels Trusted Partner.
  • The proof of vaccination or negative test result must be uploaded on the Safe Travels site prior to departure.
  • All vaccinated guests must also have with them the physical copy of the vaccination card, no digital images will be accepted.

Canada

Best of the Canadian Rockies

  • All travelers must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, having received the final required dose at least 14 days prior to entry to Canada. The approved vaccines are Pfizer-Biontech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson (Janssen).
  • For proof of vaccination, all travelers must apply to ArriveCAN¸ which takes 1-4 business days and costs $65USD per person.   • Golden Eagle Luxury Trains is requiring all guests on this tour to be fully vaccinated due to complications with entry restrictions and border crossings for unvaccinated guests.

For entry to Italy:

  • Italy is open to American travelers (including minors) who bring one of the following: 1) Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination in the form of the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (14 days since receiving the final dose); or, 2) Proof of a negative result from a PCR/NAAT or antigen COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of arrival in Italy. These requirements apply to all travelers ages 6 and over.
  • All travelers must fill in a Passenger Locator Form at https://app.euplf.eu/#/ and download the resultant digital form or app to bring on the flight.

For entry to Switzerland and Austria:

  • Switzerland and Austria are currently open to Americans who show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test result. Use the same proof as described above. Any testing that must take place to cross borders on tour will be organized and paid for by Tauck. Travelers under the age of 16 are exempt from the requirements for Switzerland, and travelers under the age of 10 are exempt from the requirements for Austria.
  • The requirements for land passage between these countries are currently unclear. Countries may impose additional requirements for entry such as a health declaration and COVID-19 testing. Any testing that must take place to cross borders on tour will be organized and paid for by Tauck. We will update as more information becomes available.

For return to the US::

  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days of your flight is required for entry into the US after your trip. Arrangements for this testing will be made by Tauck at an additional cost to guests.

  • Travelers under the age of 10 are exempt from these requirements.

For entry to Switzerland and Italy:

  • Switzerland is currently open to Americans who show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test result. Use the same proof as described above. Any testing that must take place to cross borders on tour will be organized and paid for by Tauck. Travelers under the age of 16 are exempt from these requirements.
  • Italy is currently open to Americans (including minors) who show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test result. Use the same proof as described above. Any testing that must take place to cross borders on tour will be organized and paid for by Tauck. Additionally, all travelers must fill in a Passenger Locator Form at https://app.euplf.eu/#/. Your Tauck Director can assist with this on tour.
  • The requirements for land passage between these countries are currently unclear. Countries may impose additional requirements for entry such as a health declaration and COVID-19 testing. Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on A Sicilian Odyssey. The below travel requirements are mandated by the country of Italy and are applicable to all Tauck guests without exception:

  • Italy is open to American travelers who bring one of the following: 1) Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (14 days since receiving the final dose); or 2) Proof of a negative result from a PCR/NAAT or antigen COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of arrival in Italy (please note that Tauck requires a PCR test for unvaccinated guests). These requirements apply to all travelers ages 6 and over.
  • All travelers must fill in a Passenger Locator Form at https://app.euplf.eu/#/ and download the resultant digital form or app with a QR code to bring on the flight.
  • Effective 6 August 2021, proof of vaccination (or negative COVID-19 test 48 hrs prior) is required to enter some hotels, indoor restaurants, museums and other venues. We recommend that you carry your government-issued certificate, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, with you at all times. Children age 12 and under are excluded.

  • A negative result from a COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days of your flight is required for entry into the US after your trip. Arrangements for this testing will be made by Tauck at an additional cost to guests.

A Week In... Ireland

Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on A Week In... Ireland. The below travel requirements are mandated by the Republic of Ireland [and Northern Ireland] and are applicable to all Tauck guests without exception:

For the Republic of Ireland:

  • The Republic of Ireland has announced that it plans to open from 19 July to Americans who show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Tauck is in close communication with the Irish government authorities and our local partners and will update this site as soon as the requirements are finalized.
  • All guests must bring proof, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (14 days since receiving the final dose) for entry into Ireland.
  • Requirements for unvaccinated minors have not yet been announced. Based on EU precedent, we believe that unvaccinated minors may be allowed to travel with their vaccinated guardians if they show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival to Ireland. We will update as we learn more.
  • Ireland and our supplier partners may impose additional requirements for entry such as a health declaration and COVID-19 testing.

For Northern Ireland:

  • Based on information from the respective governments, we assume that there will be no additional requirements for land passage between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland at the time of travel. However, please note that additional COVID-19 testing may be required. Any on-tour testing required to move between countries on tour will be organized and paid for by Tauck.

For return to the US:

  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days of your flight is required for entry into the US after your trip. Arrangements for this testing will be made by Tauck at an additional cost to guests.

A Week In... Naples, Capri & Amalfi

Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on A Week In... Portugal. The below travel requirements are mandated by the country of Portugal and are applicable to all Tauck guests without exception: 

  • All travelers must bring proof of a negative NAAT (including RT-PCR) COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the time of departure to Portugal, or a negative antigen COVID-19 test taken within 24 hours of the time of departure to Portugal (note that Tauck requires a PCR test for unvaccinated guests). Vaccinated travelers are not exempt from this requirement. This result must be shown at the time of boarding the flight to Portugal and also at the border control upon arrival in Portugal.
  • All travelers must complete the Passenger Locator Card online at https://portugalcleanandsafe.pt/en/passenger-locator-card within 48 hours before travel.
  • There may be temperature checks upon arrival.
  • A negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days of your flight is required for entry into the US after your trip. Arrangements for this testing will be made by Tauck at an additional cost to guests.

A Week In... Puglia

  • Italy is open to American travelers who bring one of the following: 1) Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (14 days since receiving the final dose); or 2) Proof of a negative result from a PCR/NAAT or antigen COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of arrival in Italy (please note that Tauck requires a PCR test for unvaccinated guests). These requirements apply to all travelers ages 6 and over.

After completing the form, an individualized QR code will be generated, which the traveler must present to the airline before boarding, as well as at the health controls upon entry to Spain.
  • If you are arriving to Spain from a flight from the United States, the above is the only requirement for entry. This is also valid for flights with connections, as long as the original departure city is in the United States
  • If you are traveling in another country in Europe before arriving to Spain, all travelers over the age of 12 must bring one of the following forms of proof: 1) Proof, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID 19 vaccination (14 days since receiving the final dose), or 2) Proof of a negative PCR or antigen COVID-19 test result taken within 48 hours prior to travel.

  • Tauck is requiring all guests on this tour to be fully vaccinated due to complications with entry restrictions and border crossings for unvaccinated minors.

For entry to Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Slovenia and Italy:

  • All guests must provide proof, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating that you are fully vaccinated and received the final required dose at least 14 days, but less than 210 days, prior to entry to the country.

Additionally, for entry to Italy:

  • All guests must fill out a passenger locator form. This will produce a QR code that you must show upon crossing the border. Your Tauck Director will assist you with this on tour.

For return to the United States:

  • A negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days of your flight is required for entry into the US after your trip. Arrangements for this testing will be made by Tauck at an additional cost to guests.

Alpine Adventure

Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on Alpine Adventure. The below travel requirements are mandated by the countries of Switzerland, Austria, and Germany, and are applicable to all Tauck guests without exception:

  • Switzerland has announced that they plan to open on 28 June* to American travelers who show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Tauck is in close communication with the Swiss authorities and our local partners and will update this site as soon as the requirements are finalized.
  • All guests 18 and over must bring proof, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (14 days since receiving the final dose) for entry into Switzerland.
  • Guests up to age 18 are allowed to enter Switzerland (even if unvaccinated) if accompanied by their vaccinated parents.
  • All travelers must fill in the Entry Form at https://swissplf.admin.ch/home in advance of their journey.

*To be ratified by the Swiss Parliament on 23 June.

For entry to Austria and Germany:

  • Based on the recent announcement by the European Union, we expect that Austria will be open this summer to Americans who show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. The entry requirements for unvaccinated minors have not yet been finalized. Tauck is in close communication with the government authorities and our local partners and will update this site as soon as the requirements are finalized.
  • As of 25 June, Germany will be open to Americans who show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Use the same proof that you used to enter Switzerland.
  • For unvaccinated minors, the requirements for land passage between these countries are currently unclear. Countries may impose additional requirements for entry such as a health declaration and COVID-19 testing. Any testing that must take place to cross borders on tour will be organized and paid for by Tauck. We will update as more information becomes available.

For entry to Austria and Germany:

  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days of your flight is required for entry into the US after your trip. Arrangements for this testing will be made by Tauck at an additional cost to guests.

    For Entry into England (departure of October 7 only):

    • All countries need to be on England’s Green List to avoid mandatory quarantine. Currently, the USA is on the Amber List although we are hopeful it will be on the Green List before we start operating.
    • Even if vaccinated, all guest will have to take a COVID-19 test 3 days before departure to the England.
    • All guests will also have to take a COVID-19 test on Day 2. Arrangements and cost for this test will be handled by Tauck.

    For Entry into France:

    • France is open to American travelers (including minors) who bring proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Use the same proof as described above. Vaccination must be with an EU-approved vaccine (2 weeks since receiving the final dose of Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca, or 4 weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson) for entry into France.

    For return to the United States:

    • A negative result from a COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days of your flight is required for entry into the US after your trip. Arrangements for this testing will be made by Tauck at an additional cost to guests.

    Exploring the Douro, Plus Lisbon & Madrid - (Westbound)

This result must be shown when boarding the flight to Portugal and also at the border control upon arrival in Portugal.
    • All travelers must complete the Passenger Locator Card online at https://portugalcleanandsafe.pt/en/passenger-locator-card within 48 hours before travel. Your Tauck Director can assist you on tour. 
    • Current COVID-19 protocols require proof of vaccination or negative test to enter some hotels, restaurants and other venues. Therefore, we recommend that you carry your vaccination card with you at all times.

    For Entry to Spain:

    Iceland

    Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on Iceland. The below travel requirements are mandated by Iceland and our ship partner Ponant and are applicable to all Tauck guests without exception:

    Iceland has the following requirements:

    • All travelers are required to Pre-register Online at https://visit.covid.is/ before departing for Iceland. Pre-registration does not constitute a travel authorization.
    • Travelers ages 16 and over must present proof, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (14 days since receiving the final dose) for entry into Iceland. Iceland accepts currently approved US and EU vaccines.
    • Additionally, all travelers ages 15 or over, regardless of vaccination status, will need to show proof of a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken within 72 hours of your flight's arrival to Iceland (please note that Tauck requires a PCR test for unvaccinated guests).

    Ponant has the following requirements:

    • For fully vaccinated guests, there are no additional requirements.
    • All unvaccinated guests must present proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 3 days of boarding. (If a PCR test to enter Iceland was done within 3 days of embarkation, the same test will suffice.).
    • Additionally, unvaccinated guests must undergo an antigen COVID-19 test on the pier before embarkation. Finally, they must undergo a second antigen COVID-19 test on Day 4 of the cruise at no cost to the Tauck guest.

    For return to the US:

    • All travelers flying into the US will still need a negative COVID-19 test taken within 3 days of their return flight. These tests will be available aboard ship at an additional cost.

    • If you are arriving to Spain from a flight from the United States, the above is the only requirement for entry. This is also valid for flights with connections, as long as the original departure city is in the United States

    • All travelers must bring proof of a negative NAAT (including RT-PCR) COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the time of departure to Portugal, or a negative antigen COVID-19 test taken within 24 hours of the time of departure to Portugal (note that Tauck requires a PCR test for unvaccinated guests). Vaccinated travelers are not exempt from Portugal's testing requirements. This result must be shown when boarding the flight to Portugal and also at the border control upon arrival.
    • All travelers must complete the Passenger Locator Card online at https://portugalcleanandsafe.pt/en/passenger-locator-card within 48 hours before travel.
    • There may be temperature checks upon arrival.

    For Entry to Spain:

    For the Republic of Ireland:

    • The Republic of Ireland has announced that it plans to open from 19 July to Americans who show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Tauck is in close communication with the Irish government authorities and our local partners and will update this site as soon as the requirements are finalized.
    • All guests must bring proof, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (14 days since receiving the final dose) for entry into Ireland.
    • Requirements for unvaccinated minors have not yet been announced. Based on EU precedent, we believe that unvaccinated minors may be allowed to travel with their vaccinated guardians if they show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival to Ireland. We will update as we learn more.
    • Ireland and our supplier partners may impose additional requirements for entry such as a health declaration and COVID-19 testing.

    For Northern Ireland:

    • Based on information from the respective governments, we assume that there will be no additional requirements for land passage between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland at the time of travel.     • Italy is open to American travelers who bring one of the following: 1) Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (14 days since receiving the final dose); or 2) Proof of a negative result from a PCR/NAAT or antigen COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of arrival in Italy (please note that Tauck requires a PCR test for unvaccinated guests). These requirements apply to all travelers ages 6 and over.
    • All travelers must fill in a Passenger Locator Form at https://app.euplf.eu/#/ and download the resultant digital form or app with a QR code to bring on the flight.
    • Effective 6 August 2021, proof of vaccination (or negative COVID-19 test 48 hrs prior) is required to enter some hotels, indoor restaurants, museums and other venues. We recommend that you carry your government-issued certificate, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, with you at all times. Children age 12 and under are excluded.

    Treasures of Spain and Portugal - (Eastbound)

    Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on Treasures of Spain and Portugal. The below travel requirements are mandated by Portugal, Spain and our ship partner Windstar; they are applicable to all Tauck guests without exception:

    • Windstar is requiring proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. All guests must present proof, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (14 days after receiving the final dose) to join this cruise. Windstar accepts currently approved US and EU vaccines.
    • Windstar will administer a COVID-19 antigen test to all guests at the pier prior to embarkation. There will be no cost for the test. A negative test result is required to board.
    • Please note that Windstar may be required to administer a COVID-19 test during the course of the cruise. They will organize and cover the cost of this test.

    For Entry to Portugal:

    • All travelers must bring proof of a negative NAAT (including RT-PCR) COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of departure for Portugal, or a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 48 hours of departure for Portugal. Vaccinated travelers are not exempt from this requirement.
    • All travelers must complete the Passenger Locator Card online at https://portugalcleanandsafe.pt/en/passenger-locator-card within 48 hours before travel. You will be emailed a QR code that you must keep with you, digitally or printed, throughout your journey.

    For Entry to Spain:

    • All travelers are required to submit a health questionnaire within 48 hours prior to arrival to Spain. The questionnaire can be filled out online or downloaded at https://www.spth.gob.es/. After completing the form, an individualized QR code will be generated, which the traveler must present at the health controls upon entry to Spain. Your Tauck Director will assist you with the completion of this form.
    • All travelers must be fully vaccinated 14 days before arriving in Spain. Use the same proof you will use for Windstar.

    For entry to Gibraltar:

    • All travelers must bring proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test or a Lateral Flow test taken within 3 days of the time of arrival to Gibraltar. Vaccinated travelers are not exempt from this requirement. This will be organized on board the ship at no additional cost.

    Masks are currently required in most vehicles, indoor spaces, and some outdoor spaces in Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal, even for vaccinated guests. Masks are required indoors, except when dining, on your cruise ship.

    For return to the United States:

    • A negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result taken within 3 days of your flight is required for entry into the US after your trip. Arrangements for this testing will be made by Tauck at an additional cost to guests.
    • Vaccinated travelers will still need a negative COVID-19 test to return to the U.S. These tests will be available at the Tauck hotel for an additional cost per person, currently EUR 85 (subject to change) in cash or by credit card for an antigen test.

    • All travelers to Greece must complete a Passenger Locator Form (PLF), no later than the day before entry into Greece.
    • For entry into Greece, travelers must present a government-issued certificate, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (at least 14 days after receiving the final dose). Although Greece also accepts a negative PCR test as an alternative, Windstar requires vaccination.
    • Turkey currently requires a negative PCR test result within 72 hours before entry. This will be available aboard our vessel at no cost.
    • Masks are currently required in most vehicles, indoor spaces, and some outdoor spaces in Greece and Turkey, even for vaccinated guests.

    Windstar requirements:

    • Windstar is requiring proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Use the same proof you use for entry into Greece.
    • For entry into Greece, travelers must present a government-issued certificate, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (at least 14 days after receiving the final dose). Although Greece also accepts a negative PCR test as an alternative, Windstar requires vaccination.

    Treasures of the Mediterranean Isles

    Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on Treasures of the Mediterranean Isles. The below travel requirements are mandated by the countries of France, Italy and Malta, and are applicable to all Tauck guests without exception:

    • All guests on this tour (including minors) must be fully vaccinated due to complications with entry restrictions and border crossings for unvaccinated persons.

    • France is open to American tourists who show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination with an EU-approved vaccine. All guests must bring proof, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (2 weeks after receiving the final dose of Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca, or 4 weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson).

    For entry to Italy :

    • All passengers must fill in a Passenger Locator Form. Your Tauck Director will assist you with this on tour.
    • Italy is open to American travelers who bring proof of full COVID-19 vaccination in the form of the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (14 days after receiving the final dose)

    For entry Malta:

    • All passengers must present a completed Public Health Declaration and Passenger Locator Form. Your Tauck Director will assist you with this on tour.
    • All American travelers must be fully vaccinated. Malta will recognize the US CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card with an EU-approved vaccine. From 1 August, the US CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card will need to be verified through a specific app to be acceptable as a valid vaccination certificate. Your Tauck Director will assist you with this on tour.

    For return to the US:

    • A negative result from a COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days of your flight is required for entry into the US after your trip. Arrangements for this testing will be made by Tauck at an additional cost to guests.

    To embark Le Lyrial:

    • All guests must be fully vaccinated 14 days before embarkation to sail aboard our Ponant ship. Use the same proof you used to enter Italy.

    For entry to Croatia and Montenegro:

    • Travelers with proof of full COVID-19 vaccination are allowed entry to Croatia and Montenegro. Use the same proof as described above for Ponant’s requirement.

    • Tauck is requiring all guests on this tour to be fully vaccinated due to complications with entry restrictions and border crossings for unvaccinated travelers.

    For entry to Poland:

    • Poland is open to American travelers who bring proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination. Vaccination must be with an EU-approved vaccine (14 days since receiving the final dose).

    For entry to Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, and the Czech Republic:

    • Hungary’s land borders are open to American travelers without further requirements.
    • Slovakia and Austria are currently open to Americans who show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Use the same proof as described above.
    • The Czech Republic is open to American travelers. There are no additional requirements for entry into the country. However, certain venues such as hotels, restaurants, and museums may require proof of vaccination for entry. Use the same proof as described above.
    • The requirements for land passage between these countries are currently unclear. Countries may impose additional requirements for entry such as a health declaration and COVID-19 testing. Any testing that must take place to cross borders on tour will be organized and paid for by Tauck. We will update as more information becomes available.

    For return to the US::

    • Proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days of your flight is required for entry into the US after your trip. Arrangements for this testing will be made by Tauck at an additional cost to guests.

    • Passports must have two consecutive open pages and be valid for at least six months after travel.

    For entry to Zambia:

    • All travelers must show a negative PCR COVID-19 test result obtained within 72 hours of their arrival. Vaccination does not exempt travelers from this requirement.
    • All travelers will undergo a temperature check upon arrival.
    • All travelers will need to fill out a contract tracing document on arrival to Zambia, listing their passport information and travel details.
    • Tauck recommends that US citizens purchase their visa upon arrival. The cost is $50 USD per person for a single-entry visa.

    For entry to Botswana:

    • All travelers must show proof of a negative result from a PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of their arrival. Guests will stop for their PCR test upon arrival in Livingstone, South Africa, on Day 1 for the crossing into Botswana on Day 3. The cost of this test is covered by Tauck.
    • All travelers will undergo a temperature check upon arrival.
    • All travelers will need to fill out a contract tracing document on arrival to Botswana, listing their passport information and travel details.
    • Botswana does not require visas for US citizens.

    For entry to South Africa:

    • All travelers must show proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test result from within 72 hours of their arrival. The flight on Day 7 between Eagle Island and Camp Kalahari will stop in the city of Maun, where Tauck will organize a PCR test for travel on Day 9. The cost of this test is covered by Tauck.
    • All travelers will undergo a temperature check upon arrival.
    • A visa is not require for US citizens.

    For return to the United States:

    • All guests will need to take a COVID-19 test on Day 11 at the One & Only Cape Town Hotel. The cost of this test is R400 South Africa Rand (approximately $28 USD per person). This test will fulfill the CDC requirement for entry into the United States. Guests can pay in USD, South African Rand, or with credit card. If a PCR test is needed for an alternate destination, this can be provided at a cost of R950 (approximately $68 USD per person).

    Kenya & Tanzania: A Classic Safari

    For entry to Tanzania

    • Tanzania requires all travelers to bring proof of a negative result from a PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival. This test is required regardless of vaccination status.
    • A rapid COVID-19 test will be administered to all guests upon arrival in Tanzania. The cost is $25 per person. This can be prepaid (recommended to avoid standing in line to pay) on the site of the Traveler’s Health Surveillance Form noted below.
    • All guests are required to fill in a Traveler’s Health Surveillance Form (https://afyamsafiri.moh.go.tz/) within 24 hours of arrival to Tanzania. Guests will provide their passport information and travel details and can prepay their rapid COVID-19 test. They will receive a unique Health Code confirmation email that they will present upon arrival in Tanzania.
    • All travelers will undergo a temperature check upon arrival.
    • US citizens can purchase a Tanzania tourist visa can be purchased upon arrival, or online at https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa/. The cost for single entry is $100 USD per person. 

    For entry to Kenya

    • Please note that a Yellow Fever vaccination or a doctor’s note is still required to enter Kenya.
    • A negative PCR COVID-19 test result will be needed within 96 hours of arrival to Kenya on Day 7. Guests will stop at the Seronera airstrip, where a testing facility has been created, during their game drive on Day 6. The cost of this test will be covered by Tauck.
    • US Citizens must purchase their Kenya tourist visa online: http://evisa.go.ke/evisa.html The cost for single entry is $51 USD per person.
    • All travelers will undergo a temperature check upon arrival in Kenya.

    For return to the United States:

    • All travelers departing Kenya must perform a PCR COVID-19 test. Additionally, all travelers flying into the US will need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 3 days of departure. Guests will undergo a PCR COVID-19 test on Day 11 for flights home on Day 13. Guests with post-stays can do the test on Day 12 or 13. The cost is $150 USD per person and must be paid in cash.

    Mountain Gorilla Safari: Kenya, Tanzania & Rwanda

Guests will receive a unique Health Code confirmation that they will present upon arrival in Rwanda.
    • A PCR COVID-19 test will also be given at the Kigali airport upon arrival into Rwanda. Tauck will cover the cost of this test.

    For return to the United States:

    • For exit, Rwanda requires a PCR COVID-19 test within 72-hours of departure. We will have PCR tests conducted at One & Only Gorilla’s Nest 48 hours in advance of departure at a cost of $60 USD per person for any guests who have flights that will not fall into the 72 hours from our arrival when a PCR test was administered at the Kigali airport. This test will also fulfill the CDC testing requirement to enter the United States.

    • South Africa does not require visas for US citizens.

    • South Africa requires all travelers to print and fill out an entrance and exit questionnaire. Please check this page again soon for the link to that questionnaire.
    • All travelers must show proof of a negative result from a PCR COVID-19 test within 72 hours of their arrival. Vaccination does not exempt travelers from this requirement.
    • All travelers will undergo a temperature check upon arrival to South Africa.

    For Entry into Zimbabwe:

    • The visa required for Zimbabwe will be purchased by the Tauck Director for each guest.
    • All travelers arriving at Victoria Falls Airport are required to present a negative PCR COVID-19 test result obtained within 48 hours prior to arrival in Zimbabwe. Tauck will organize PCR tests in Johannesburg on Day 8 for the flight on Day 10 to Zimbabwe. Tauck will cover the cost of this test.
    • All travelers will undergo a temperature check upon arrival to Zimbabwe.
    • All travelers will need to fill out a contract tracing document on arrival to Zimbabwe, listing their passport information and travel details.
    • For exit from Johannesburg for flights home on Day 12, Tauck will organize a PCR COVID-19 test screening the morning of Day 11 in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The cost of the test is $60 USD per person. This test will also fulfill the CDC requirement for entry into the United States.

    Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on Egypt: Jewels of the Nile. The below travel requirements are mandated by Egypt and apply to all Tauck guests without exception:

    • Regardless of vaccination status, Tauck requires that all American travelers to Egypt bring proof of a negative result from a PCR COVID-19 test taken within 3 days of arrival. Egypt generally accepts proof of vaccination for entry into the country instead of a negative test, they currently do not accept the US CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card as a valid form of proof.
    • For exit from Egypt, a negative PCR COVID-19 test result is required by the airlines to allow boarding. Tauck will organize this test for all guests. The cost is approximately $130 USD or EGP 2000 per person to be paid in cash or with credit card directly. This test will also fulfill the CDC requirement for entry into the United States, if the test is taken within 3 days of your departing flight.

    Jordan & Egypt: Petra to the Pyramids

    Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on Jordan & Egypt: Petra to the Pyramids. The below travel requirements are mandated by Jordan and Egypt and are applicable to all Tauck guests without exception:

     

    For entry to Jordan:

    • Jordan requires all travelers to bring one of the following forms of proof, to be shown at the time of boarding: 1) Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating full COVID-19 vaccination (14 days since receiving the final dose); or, 2) Proof of a negative result from a PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of boarding the aircraft from the first point of departure to Jordan.
    • All guests must bring proof of valid health insurance. This must be shown at the time of boarding.
    • All travelers must fill out the Travel to Jordan Declaration Form at https://www.gateway2jordan.gov.jo/form/ to receive a QR code for entry. The QR code is to be shown at the airline counter before boarding. Vaccinated guests must upload their proof of vaccination on www.gateway2jordan.gov.jo in advance of departure.
    • Unvaccinated travelers ONLY must take a PCR COVID-19 test upon arrival at Jordan Queen Alia International Airport (AMM), at a cost of 28 JOD (approximately S40 USD). Payment must be made electronically at https://registration.questlabjo.com in advance of travel. Each traveler must print a receipt for this payment to show at the check-in counter before boarding. (The airlines will collect this payment directly from travelers who do not present the receipt.)

    For entry to Egypt:

    • Egypt requires all travelers to bring proof of a negative result from a PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival. Tauck will organize and cover the cost of this test.
    • For exit from Egypt, a negative PCR COVID-19 test result is required by the airlines to allow boarding. Tauck will organize this test for all guests. The cost is approximately $130 USD or EGP 2000 per person to be paid in cash or with credit card directly. This test will also fulfill the CDC requirement for entry into the United States, if the test is taken within 3 days of your departing flight.

    Magic of Morocco

    Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on Magic of Morocco. The below travel requirements are mandated by the country of Morocco and are applicable to all Tauck guests without exception:

    For entry to Morocco:

    • Morocco does not require visas for US citizens staying less than 90-days.
    • All travelers must present one of the following forms of proof: 1) Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating that you are fully vaccinated and have received the final required dose no sooner than 14 days prior to arrival to Morocco, or; 2) A negative result from a PCR COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of arrival.
    • All travelers must fill in a Health Passenger Form in advance of travel. This form is located at http://www.onda.ma/form.php, detailing passport information and travel details. For the address and phone number in Morocco, guests should list the first hotel, La Tour Hassan Hotel, 26 Rue Chellah, Rabat, phone number +2125 3723 9000. At the bottom of the online form you will find an orange button. Click to print the form to sign and bring along for entry to Morocco.
    • All travelers will undergo a temperature check upon arrival.

    For exit from Morocco and entry to the United States:

    • Guests will undergo a rapid COVID-19 test at the Four Seasons in Marrakech on the afternoon of Day 8, for flights out on Day 10. The cost is Dh1500 Moroccan Dirham (approximately $150 USD). This test will also fulfil the CDC requirement for entry into the United States, if taken within 3 days of departure to the US, but they require 24 hours to process.
    • For guests traveling on to other locations that might require a PCR test, these tests are also available for Dh700 Moroccan Dirham (approximately $70 USD).
    • Tests can be paid in local currency or credit card.
    Latin America

    Costa Rica: Jungles & Rainforests

    Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on Costa Rica: Jungles & Rainforests. Please be aware that the below requirements are mandated by Costa Rica and apply to all Tauck guests without exception:

    • Health Pass Form - All guests must complete Costa Rica’s Health Pass online, available at https://salud.go.cr. This must be filled out within 72 hours/3 days before arriving in Costa Rica. After completion of the form, you will receive a QR code that must be carried on your mobile phone or printed out on paper to be allowed to pass through the entry airport.
    • As of 1 August 2021, Vaccinated guests will not have to bring proof of travel insurance but must bring proof, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Card, of full vaccination against COVID-19, with the last required dose received at least 14 days before entry to Costa Rica. Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, or Johnson & Johnson vaccines are accepted.
    • All unvaccinated guests aged 18 and over must have mandatory travel insurance providing the following benefits:
      • $50,000 USD for medical expenses, including COVID-19
      • $2,000 USD  for lodging expenses in the event of COVID-19 quarantine
      • Coverage must be valid for your entire stay in Costa Rica
    • For guests with Tauck’s Guest Protection plan, Tauck will purchase on your behalf a specifically designed coverage that will meet the COVID-19 insurance entry requirement for Costa Rica. This supplemental travel insurance will be purchased through the Aon's Pro Plus Plan. Tauck Guest Relations will call you and purchase this plan with you on the phone. You will subsequently receive an email confirmation to provide as proof on your Costa Rica Health Pass form.
    • For guests without Tauck’s Guest Protection Plan:
      • If your insurance covers these requirements, you must request a letter from the insurance company indicating your name, effective dates of the policy, and the amount of coverage as required above, and that the benefits specifically cover COVID-19.
      • If your insurance does not cover these requirements, you must purchase a supplement plan to meet the requirements. Costa Rica recommends one of the below Costa Rican insurance companies.
      • Visit www.visitcostarica.com to ensure your travel insurance meets all necessary entry requirements.
    • A negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of your flight is required for entry into the US after your trip. This will take place on Day 6 in Liberia en route to your hotel. The cost of this test is $50 per person.

    Cruising the Galápagos Islands

The below travel requirements are mandated by Ecuador, the Galápagos National Park, our cruise partner Metropolitan Touring and the CDC; they apply to all Tauck guests without exception:

    Ecuador has the following entry requirements:

    • All guests must provide one of the following: 1) A government-issued certificate, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating that you are fully vaccinated and received the final required dose at least14 days prior to entry to Ecuador, or 2) A negative result from a PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to your arrival in Ecuador.
    • Please note that unvaccinated minors (age 2 or older) will need to provide proof of a negative result from a PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival in Ecuador.
    • All guests must complete a Health Declaration. This form will be distributed on the flight to Ecuador.
    • All guests will undergo a medical screening upon arrival in Ecuador, including a temperature check.

    Galápagos National Park and our cruise partner, Metropolitan Touring, have additional requirements for entry/embarkation:

    • Fully vaccinated guests will need to show the proof of vaccination used to enter Ecuador.
    • All unvaccinated guests (including minors) must have a negative PCR COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of the flight departure time to Galápagos National Park. If you are arriving in Ecuador such that the flight to the Galapagos on Day 2 is within 72 hours of the COVID-19 test you used for entry to Ecuador, you can use this same test to fulfill the requirement for the Galapagos. If not, you will need to take a PCR test after arrival. Our ship partner, Metropolitan Touring, will organize and administer this test at Tauck’s hotel at no additional cost to the guest.
    • All guests will need to show proof of travel insurance with medical coverage. If you have purchased Tauck’s Cruise Protection plan, it fulfills the requirement. You will need to print a copy of your policy, which is on the last page of your Personal Documents. Your Tauck Director will provide additional documentation for you and identify you as the beneficiary of the insurance. If you did not purchase Tauck’s Cruise Protection plan, you will need documentation showing travel insurance with medical coverage, or primary care medical insurance, with coverage in Ecuador. No minimum benefit is required.

    For return to the US:

    • All travelers returning to the US will still need a negative COVID-19 test. The cost of this test is covered by Metropolitan Touring and will be administered at Tauck’s hotel.

    Galápagos: Wildlife Wonderland

    Hidden Galápagos & Peru

    Your health and safety remain our number one priority while you are traveling with us on Hidden Galapagos & Peru.The below requirements are mandated by the countries of Peru and Ecuador and our ship partner Silversea, and are applicable to all Tauck guests without exception:

    • Silversea is requiring proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Guests must bring a government-issued certificate, such as the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, indicating that you are fully vaccinated and received the final required dose no sooner than 14 days prior to the start of this tour.

    For entry to Peru:

    • Before boarding the plane, all guests must provide a negative PCR or antigen COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to check-in. Vaccinated visitors are not exempt from this requirement. Guests must also fill out a sworn statement online prior to the flight (https://e-notificacion.migraciones.gob.pe/dj-salud/).
    • IMPORTANT: All persons, regardless of vaccination status, must wear two disposable masks (preferably surgical) at all times during their flight to Peru, on their flights within Peru and on their flight from Peru to Ecuador, and while in all Peru airports, trains and public transit. Reusable face masks are not acceptable for international flights to Peru. You MUST bring the masks with you on tour.
    • For the trains and bus to/from Machu Picchu, double masks AND a face shield must be worn at all times. Tauck will provide these face shields on tour.
    • Masks are currently required in most vehicles, indoor spaces, and some outdoor spaces in Peru and Ecuador, even for vaccinated guests. Masks are required in all public spaces on the Silversea ship.
    • Your Tauck Director will provide further instructions on tour regarding when and where various masks are required throughout your journey.

    For entry to Ecuador and the Galápagos National Park:

    • For entry into Ecuador on Day 7 and to the Galapagos on Day 8, guests will need to show the proof of vaccination described above.
    • All guests will need to show proof of travel insurance with medical coverage. If you have purchased Tauck’s Cruise Protection plan, it fulfills the requirement.
